5 Tips to Live Inspired in the New Year

Do you want to make this your best year yet? You can!!!

Making the new year amazing doesn't begin and end with setting and accomplishing goals...it's so much more than that. Having a great year goes beyond resolutions. It includes riding the roller coaster of life and being able to march on despite any obstacle that lands in your way.

That's why this year, instead of loading you up on New Year's resolution tips, I am giving you 5 Tips to Live Inspired so you can make this your best year yet!

1. Focus on the "haves" not the "have nots"

As humans we have a tendency to focus on those things that we don't have, overlooking all that we DO have, which leads to discontentment. This year, focus on what you do have. It will lead to greater happiness and satisfaction.

2. Give Thanks

Wake up with appreciation and give thanks for the wonderful people in your life and all that you've been blessed with (this goes hand-in-hand with Tip 1). Every morning, acknowledge at least one thing that you are grateful for. This will help you start your day on a positive note.

3. Be Mindful

Being mindful is one of the hardest, yet most important, things you can do to live an inspired and fulfilling life. Mindfulness requires being aware of your thoughts, feelings and actions, as well as those around you. Greater mindfulness enables you to better understand your thoughts and feelings, and, therefore, focus your intent to create more positivity.

4. Surround Yourself With Positivity

A strong support network is crucial to overcoming obstacles and dealing with whatever life throws at you. It is especially important that this support network be positive and uplifting. When you surround yourself with negative people, you get more negative. When you surround yourself with positive people, you're more likely to think positive and find creative solutions to break down barriers and succeed.

5. Weed Out the Negative

Want a new year's resolution? Weed out the negative in your life! Cut ties with negative people. It's okay to outgrow relationships and move on from people who bring you down or hold you back. Don't let their negativity stifle you. Weed out all that bad and make more room for the good!
